Green Asphalt - Plastic Tar Road
Why it matters in Malaysia?
A 2019 research report conducted by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) showed that Malaysia ranks second in Asia for annual per capita plastic use.
At 16.78kg per person, Malaysia outranks much larger nations including China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam in overall generated waste.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) states that single-use plastics designed for immediate disposal after use – including grocery bags, containers, and bottles – are often discarded within the same year of production. Plastic does not decompose which means all plastics in our environment are still with us.
Malaysia’s plastic problem is getting worse according to a report published by WWF-Malaysia. Post-consumer plastic waste generation in Malaysia is estimated to be more than 1 million tonnes (1,070,064 tonnes, to be precise.)
How it Works?
Plastic Tar Road is a patented technology which our partner collaborates with Dr. Rajagopalan Vasudevan a.k.a “Plastic Man of India”.
A simple methodology as below:

The Benefits?
Environmental Impact: They help reduce carbon emissions and prevent plastic waste from ending up in oceans or landfills.
Durability: Plastic improves the road’s flexibility, slowing deterioration and minimizing potholes, potentially lasting up to three times longer than traditional roads.
Economic Savings: Incorporating plastic can result in cost savings for road construction.
Maintenance: Roads with plastic are less prone to corrosion and require less upkeep, which means fewer traffic jams due to road work.
Recycling: Plastic roads can be recycled again at the end of their life cycle, promoting a circular economy.
Eco Friendly Process: No need for land filling and incineration, thus no toxic gas evolution & reduce overall CO2 emissions.
